Community Project Funding (CPF) allows Members of Congress the opportunity to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent.

The following types of projects are not eligible for funding under this account: Healthcare facilities; Museums, commemoratives, and memorials; Swimming pools, water parks, ski slopes, and golf courses; Venues strictly for entertainment purposes, such as theaters, amphitheaters, fairgrounds, and performing arts centers; Strictly research, operational, or planning activities; and Buildings for the general conduct of government (courthouses, post offices, city halls), which are not allowed under the statute.
Applications with demonstrable community support and a federal nexus will only be considered. Evidence of support can take many forms, including but not limited to, letters from local stakeholders or elected officials, a commitment of funding from state or local government, op-eds, online petitions, etc.

(NOTE: A Member of Congress may only submit 15 Community Project Funding requests to the Appropriations Committee each year. In the past, previously funded projects have typically ranged between $100K-$5M. This category of funding is extremely competitive.)
