BRONX, N.Y. – U.S. Representative Ritchie Torres (NY-15), an unwavering and unapologetic supporter and
ally of Israel, today issued the following statement about the Times Square rally held by New York City
Democratic Socialists in celebration of the perpetrators of the ongoing and deadly terrorist attack against
Israel:
“The NYC-DSA held a rally this afternoon in Times Square, glorifying the terrorism of
Hamas as “resistance.” Never mind the hundreds of Israeli civilians and children who
have been murdered, wounded, abducted, and terrorized. Their lives mean nothing to
the DSA. Nothing.
The NYC-DSA is revealing itself for what it truly is — a deep rot of antisemitism.
There is a special place in hell for those who glorify the cold-blooded murder of
civilians and children.
The DSA refers to “75 years of occupation.” For the DSA, the occupation is Israel itself.
Ending the occupation means ending Israel — the home of the world’s largest Jewish
population.
The DSA should be universally condemned for its genocidal celebration of Israel’s
destruction in the wake of Israel’s deadliest terrorist attack.”
